Uber and Lyft drivers talk minimum wage, gig economy challenges with Seattle Mayor Durkan
Around 30,000 Uber and Lyft drivers work in the Seattle area.
New rules guaranteeing them a minimum wage will go into effect on July 1. But those rules haven’t been written yet; how do you write a minimum wage for gig workers who frequently hop between two employers?
On Thursday, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan and her advisors listened to drivers’ concerns in a telephone town hall.
