Crews Continue To Work Throughout The Day To Restore Power
Powerful winds hit the Puget Sound area Thursday night leaving thousands without power and many downed power lines. Puget Sound Energy reports roughly 62,000 customers are without power this morning; the total number of affected by outages are 234,000 PSE customers.
Thurston County, Kitsap County and Whidbey Island are reporting higher numbers, according to PSE.
Crews will continue to work throughout the day. "During daylight hours, two helicopters will fly our over transmission lines in north King, Whatcom and Skagit counties to assess transmission line damage. As damage assessment continues, we’ll get a better understanding of how long it will take to make repairs and restore power to customers," PSE released in a statement Friday morning.
They also remind people to not touch downed power lines that could still be energized. Call PSE at 888-225-5773 or 911 to report outages and other electric problems. View PSE's outage map here.
