LaQuanta Hernandez of McAllen, Texas, is among the parents traveling to Washington D.C. for years now to demand Congress pass the Kids Online Safety Act. Their aim is to hold tech companies more accountable for harm. The Senate passed the bill with bipartisan support in August. Now it’s up to the House to advance it, but it faces an uphill battle over First Amendment concerns.
