Journalist Amy Goodman has been an influential voice in independent media for the past 20 years. Her efforts to inform, defy and edify resonate with many audiences. She co-hosts the award winning program Democracy Now!, where she is often seen reporting from the front lines of progressive action.

Goodman’s latest book is “Democracy Now!: Twenty Years Covering the Movements Changing America.” In it, she and co-author Denis Moynihan reflect on the work the program has done in the last two decades.

The book critically examines past and current national and world leaders. Their aim is to bridge what they call a media-distorted understanding gap giving a voice to ordinary individuals who stand up to corporate and government power.

Goodman spoke at Town Hall Seattle on May 10. Moynihan introduced her talk.
