Labour Party wins big in UK election

The United Kingdom has a new prime minister and the first Labour Party majority in 14 years. The traditionally left-wing party — which has become more centrist in recent years — secured a dominant win in the election.

The ruling Conservative Party and leader Rishi Sunak suffered the party’s worst defeat since it was founded almost 200 years ago.
