Protests outside an LA synagogue turn into a brawl

Elected officials from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass up to President Joe Biden reacted sharply after protests in front of a synagogue devolved into street fighting this past weekend. Biden called the demonstration outside a house of worship “antisemitic.”

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators say they were there not because it is a synagogue but because of a meeting being held there advertised as a real estate event to sell land in Israel. Similar real estate events have sparked protests in other parts of the country as well.
