School investigating additional allegations against Seattle teacher following KUOW report
Following KUOW's investigations into teachers who kept their jobs after documented abusive behavior, students at one Seattle school attempted to report even more complaints.
The principal of Washington Middle School emailed parents Friday that KUOW's reporting was inaccurate, but did not cite inaccuracies.
Washington Middle School students, however, brought up more complaints about their teacher in the days following KUOW's report.
A line of students formed in front of the school's office Monday morning with the intention of making further allegations about the teacher. When the first bell rang, they were told to go to class rather than file reports.
The teacher, James Johnson, has been placed on leave. The school says it is currently looking into additional reports of inappropriate behavior.
Reporter Ann Dornfeld spoke with Morning Edition's Angela King about the latest reactions from students, the schools, and the district.
