Trump deploys soldiers to help with border enforcement
In a rural and sweeping pocket of far West Texas, the Trump administration is pushing forward with its militarization campaign, sending up to 500 troops to help carry out the administration’s border security efforts. But this region, what U.S. Customs and Border Protection calls its Big Bend Sector, has some of the lowest crossing encounters along the southwest border.
So, how is President Trump’s campaign unfolding here, an area with a long and complicated history of the presence of troops at the border?
