U.S. and Middle East brace for Iranian retaliation after Israeli strikes

Attacks by Israel and promised retaliation by Iran have raised the stakes of regional conflict in the Middle East. A suspected rocket attack at an American military base in Iraq injured several people yesterday. No group has claimed responsibility, but the attack comes as Iran and Iranian-backed militias have vowed revenge for the killings last week of senior members of Hezbollah and Hamas in suspected strikes by Israel.
