UN works to reduce plastic pollution

The world produces about 53,000 metric tons of plastic every hour. Much of it is used once and then tossed away, contaminating our soil, water and bodies.

The United Nations is trying to form a treaty to reduce plastic pollution. But the plastics industry has its own ideas about what to do.
