fter a year-long absence from public schools, some students will return for in-person learning. This news comes with a sigh of relief for some families, but it also leaves them with concerns and plenty of questions. What is it like in the classroom during a pandemic? What steps are schools taking to prevent the spread of Covid-19?
Some teachers say seeing their kids in class takes their mind away from the virus. Others say it’s a constant tension between what’s asked of them and what they feel safe doing. Meanwhile, many parents are thrilled that their kids will finally be back in-person, but some say their school is being too stringent or too casual about Covid-19 mitigation.
Starting Tuesday, February 16, The Record is kicking off a weekly segment about schools during the pandemic, and we want to hear from you and address your questions.
