One of the big stories of 2017 was the Trump administration's travel ban targeting some Muslim countries. Arsalan Bukhari of the Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR says the travel ban also had an impact on Americans.

KUOW's Race and Equity Team interviewed him as part of a series revisiting stories and issues that shaped 2017.

Bukhari led the Seattle office for the Council on American-Islamic Relations for a decade. He recently took a job at CAIR’s national headquarters in Washington, D.C.
