KUOW is a nonprofit public media organization and a proud member of the NPR Network. Our mission is to create and serve a more informed public, because we believe an informed public makes our community stronger. 

KUOW is a self-sustaining service of the University of Washington, with 73 percent of our revenue coming from individual contributors (listeners like you!) and 20 percent from business supporters. Only four percent of KUOW's funding comes from government dollars via the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Every fiscal year, KUOW publicly publishes our revenue sources and expenses. KUOW's transparency and commitment to excellence have earned us a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator every year since 2011.
