How to avoid 'cancer ghosting' a loved one after diagnosis
We are reporting on the new cohort of cancer survivors. They are younger and they are living longer. They also have a different set of problems than older cancer survivors.
An almost universal phenomenon we’ve heard about in our reporting is “cancer ghosting” — friends and family disappearing on the patient when cancer strikes. The damage to a relationship can be irreparable. But support for a person with cancer can be simpler than you might imagine.
