Today’s the last day to mail in your ballot or drop it off at one of the drop boxes around King County. Also, there are a few places where you can vote in person.

At the Seattle Union Station, Elizabeth Haile has just finished filling out her ballot. She got help from two election workers.

“I don’t want to make mistakes,” she said. “I get help from these two beautiful young girls,” who also happen to speak her native language.

“I’m from Eritrea, but raised in Ethiopia,” Haile explained. “This beautiful girl is from Ethiopia. So she speaks Amharic, I speak Amharic.”

Election worker Mia Wolde-Maskell chuckled. “She lucked out today.” Wolde-Maskell provided the translation while her coworker LeCriesha Lewis sat in as a witness.

Ballots are available in five languages: English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Spanish. There are also translators on site for those who need it.

Voting Center Locations:

Bellevue City Hall, 450 110th Avenue NE, Bellevue

King County Elections, 919 SW Grady Way, Renton

Seattle Union Station, 401 S. Jackson Street, Seattle

This center, along with the ones in Renton and Bellevue are the only centers in King County where voters can cast their ballots in person.

Angela Kubota-Wolbert of King County Elections says the centers serve voters with different needs. “We do have a lot of people that need the machines for whatever their disability might be,” she said. “We have a lot of people who are between homes or homeless that come and use this that didn’t receive their mail ballot for whatever reason.”

The accessible voting centers will be open until 8 p.m. today on Election Day.
