During Joseph Goodman's latest DUI last month he crashed his Audi SUV into a Seattle stop sign and then ran away.

The one before that, he led Olympia police on a car chase that ended when he crashed his Ferrari into a parked car and a house.

Goodman now has eight DUI arrests in 26 years. He's been convicted seven times.

But he's never been charged with a DUI felony, only misdemeanors. That's because in Washington drivers can only be charged with a felony if they have been convicted of three DUIs in 10 years.

Goodman's convictions have been spread out just enough to avoid that.

So he's been driving around on probation since his bond release over a month ago.

Goodman travels around the Puget Sound region for work and tells his probation officer nightly where he will be the next day.

But on Monday a judge in Seattle Municipal Court granted Goodman's request to notify probation once he's already at a location.

Both Goodman and his attorney declined to comment.

His next court date is June 17.
