This month, the San Francisco Opera presents the American premiere of “Innocence”, which explores the ideas of guilt and innocence 10 years after a shooting at a school in Finland. The opera was composed by the late Kaija Saariaho with a libretto by Sofie Oksanen and Aleksi Barrière.

Here & Now‘s Deepa Fernandes speaks about “Innocence” with conductor Clément Mao-Takacs and Ryan Marchand, head of diversity, equity and community for the San Francisco Opera.
