Each day on The Record we play the sound of your day. Listeners record 30 seconds of a sound they find interesting, write a short story and send it to The Record.

Monday, September 30

That is the sound of dawn on an autumn day as heard by listener Elizabeth. Rain and blustery wind set off metal and bamboo wind chimes by her house.

Tuesday, October 1

Bellingham natives Sam and Heidi are spending two years working in Seoul, South Korea. While hiking the very crowded trail at the Seoraksan National Park they heard the sound of chanting Buddhist monks. About halfway up the trail they saw a massive boulder chiseled with Buddhist inscriptions and a small temple. It wasn’t the most spiritual environment with all of the families and hikers milling about, however Sam said it was a beautiful scene and sound.

Wednesday, October 2

Listener Wendy hears this sound every time she picks her two sons up from soccer practice. It is the sound of 10 happy boys who love soccer.

Thursday, October 3

Audrey’s two-year-old white lab mix dog named Roxy makes this noise when she sleeps. You can hear the high pitched cute little snores that Audrey gets to enjoy regularly.
