Gaming giant Ubisoft debuts “Star Wars: Outlaws” this week. The new video game takes place between “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” movies. But it’s not about good versus evil or the Force. Instead, you play a scrappy criminal trying to find her next big score in a galaxy far, far away.

We discuss the novel approach to player-driven storytelling with the game’s narrative director Navid Khavari.
