UN says both Israel and Hamas have committed war crimes

A new report from a United Nations investigative panel says Israel and Hamas have both committed war crimes since Oct. 7.

The investigation, conducted by independent human rights experts, found that Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups used torture, sexual violence and systematic kidnapping during last October’s attack. It also found that Israel is committing crimes against humanity in Gaza, including extermination, murder and gender persecution targeting Palestinian men and boys.

Host Deepa Fernandes talks with world affairs editor for the Guardian Julian Borger.
