We asked Seattle candidates to answer offbeat questions. Jessyn Farrell's response:

After their formal interviews, we asked Seattle mayoral candidates to answer less traditional questions. The goal was to humanize them beyond the wonk. Candidate Jessyn Farrell didn't answer the published offbeat questions.

Farrell is an attorney, former state representative and mother of three. She resigned from the state legislature to run for mayor after Mayor Ed Murray said he wouldn’t run again.

Age: 43

Occupation: Attorney and former state representative

Neighborhood: Laurelhurst

Hometown: Born in Seattle (Lake City neighborhood), raised in Lake Forest Park

On Seattle taxes: “Any tax policy is a statement about our values. In this city, people are being left behind. Our tax system reflects that. We have the poorest among us shouldering an unfair burden on sales tax and property tax."

Position on Mayor Ed Murray sex abuse allegations: Farrell initially supported Murray, according to the Stranger, saying that “my heart goes out to Mayor Murray, Michael, their families and friends for the pain of the past several weeks. As a city, we must reject the politics of personal destruction.”

She changed her tune this month, after The Seattle Times reported that one of Murray’s alleged victims was found credible in 1984. Farrell said that news “severely undermines our confidence in his ability to carry out the duties of his office.”
