Power restored to downtown Seattle, but snarls remain heavy

Power has been restored to downtown Seattle after a large outage earlier Wednesday.

The utility says there was an equipment failure at substation at Massachusetts Street, but are still investigating the cause of the outage.

Sound Transit said link light rail service was temporarily interrupted due to the outage, but is up running again. Delays are expected as they catch up on service.

Though the Colman Dock area was affected, ferries are running on time.

Seattle Fire Department says 911 service were not affected.

Seattle Department of Transportation said traffic delays through the downtown area are still heavy and suggests using SR-99 as an alternate route.
