These Ubers have two wheels and no driver

Uber is getting into the bike-share game here in Seattle. This week the company dropped off 300 new bikes that you can sync with your Orca card.

Matthew Van Pelt said he takes an Uber ride two to three times a day.

"And I noticed on the app the option to select bike, had no idea what it was, and then all of a sudden I see this Ferarri sitting out front," Van Pelt said.

Not an actual Ferrari, but one of the new Uber bikes in hot rod red.

They're branded as JUMP.

Unlike LimeBikes, these ones don't need a smartphone to unlock and you can sync your Orca card with them.

"You'll be able to even reserve one up to thirty minutes in advance," said Uber's Nathan Hambley.

JUMP also offers a discounted service for people with low income.

Hambley said Uber is adding bikes for trips that might be too short to take a car.

"We're actually seeing kind of a falloff in our rides business for those shortest trips," he said, "And so what we're starting to talk about is people naturally right-sizing their trips."

Right now JUMP has 300 bikes in town but they could add up to 5,000.

They're offering free rides through December 9.
